1972 911T Targa (Sold)

The Porsche 911 Targa was always something that young men dreamt of owning when it was announced for 1967.

I remember I had a photo on my wall of a gorgeous Bahama Yellow example that was my absolute dream to own, a civilized convertible with all the style and mechanicals from the Porsche 911 family. The polished roll over bar was a new and striking feature, with the covered removable roof panel which folded away either behind the front seats or in the bonnet. Porsche only made left hand drive Targas up until the 1973 production run, so the car I have on offer here is a LHD 2.4 litre from 1972 in Bright Yellow.

The larger capacity engine gave the 911 that much more drivability in the lower rev range. The T model with softer camshafts give the 911 great low down torque and in my opinion in modern driving conditions it is as good as one would wish with a healthy 140 bhp. This example sports the Bosch Mechanical Fuel injection, the same as the E, S, and RS models from the same era, giving lovely progressive smooth power. With this car is the original service and handbook and a Porsche AG Certificate of Authenticity.

Increasingly hard to find it will give great joy to its new keeper.
